#4: Family fun at the Conservancy

Celebrate Endangered Species Day at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, 1495 Smith Preserve Way, with a Family Fun Day. Kids will get in free from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and enjoy animal encounters, games, crafts and other activities to raise awareness of endangered species. The nature center will also have electric boat tours, kayak rentals, the Little Explorer Play Zone available. Conservancy members get in free, or $12.95 for nonmembers. #2: ‘Celebrate Our Heroes’ at the ballpark

Honor Southwest Florida’s law enforcement, emergency services, fire and rescue, prosecutors, community citizens and more Saturday during the third annual Celebrate our Heroes Day at JetBlue Park, 11500 Fenway South Drive, in Fort Myers. The gates open at 10 a.m., followed by a recognition awards ceremony at 11 a.m. Local law enforcement will face off against local fire and rescue crews in a friendly “Guns vs. Hoses” exhibition softball game at 12:30 p.m. A Home Run Derby will take place at 1 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children.
